I have decided

I have decided on what I will do for my major project this year. During the holidays I came up with an idea for an animation for the song "the tuning of violins" by Darren Hayes. At first I wasn't going to make it due to time and what I wanted for a job but something has changed my mind.

And that something is the permission by Darren Hayes himself to use his song in my animation. For those who don't know who he is, Darren Hayes was the lead singer of the Australian band Savage Garden.

Now before Ian and Frank start telling me how hard this will be all the other stuff, I'm going to tell you why I want to do this. 1stly I'm only planning on using about a minute of the song so it won't be as long and i'm also planning on making it just as good as an animation mentor students animation. But this is something that is very close to my heart and finishing this animation and have Darren Hayes go "wow I love this" or any one in fact would mean 10 times more to me than a job offer. Yes i know that this possibly won't get me a job and yes I know this will be hard but I'm willing to put my heart and soul into this animation. Just as Glen Keane said that he felt like he had to animate Ariel to "Part of your world", I feel as though I have to animate to "The turning of violins"

This is exactly why I want to draw and animate, to be able to project my stories to the world and I hope that everyone will support me in my decision :3

Now bring on the hard task!!!

goals for this year

My goal for this year is to be the best animator i can be or better. I really want to push myself to my full potential and see what i can do. With that being said there is a piece of animation that i want to make but due to the time frame i have to make it in, i might not be able to do it.

I guess all it's going to come down to is time :3 As long as by the end of the year i can honestly say that i've tried my hardest then i'll be happy
